To get the first version of ReplyAll up and running, we spent only $20K on development. It sucked and didn’t gain much traction, but it was something to work with and we were able to use the the first version to iterate and build something a little better. What this means for you is that you can keep your job while having a freelance technical team build a lean version of your idea that you can test on nights and weekends to see if your idea has legs.

Florida Law Updates: Florida considers law to protect digital assets after death
The Florida lawmaker who pushed through a bill to ban the use of biometric data in Florida schools now wants to protect the digital assets of the deceased. Those assets include emails, text messages, online photographs, documents stored in the cloud, electronic bank statements, and social media accounts.

Machines of History: Mig-3 raised from the bottom of a lake, restored & flies again!
The Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-3 was a Soviet fighter aircraft used during World War II. It was a development of the MiG-1 by the OKO of Zavod (Factory) No. 1 to remedy problems that had been found during the MiG-1’s development and operations. It replaced the MiG-1 on the production line at Factory No. 1 on 20 December 1940 and was built in large numbers during 1941 before Factory No. 1 was converted to build the Ilyushin Il-2.

History Maker: THE REAL BURGER KING- 53 years after the war, WWII veteran receives an unexpected call
After having served in the 667th FAB-Headquarters during the Battle of the Bulge and Rheinland campaign, Corporal E. Frank Sisson from Oklahoma City was promoted as a Line Sergeant and transferred to Berlin where he began working as an investigator for the Military Police.

Christmas day, 1945, would become one of the most memorable days of Frank’s life. Read the rest here

This multi-function app for iPad and iPhone can perform calendar computations, fee calculations, settlement calculations, interest-rate calculations and more. Use it to research historical weather information or population demographics. Look up legal terms and statutes of limitation. The list of what it can do goes on.

Microsoft is quietly preparing to formally launch a new practice management product for lawyers in the coming months. The product was scheduled to be announced this month but the announcement has been delayed. It now appears that the product will be rolled out at or around the time of ABA Techshow in April.

Medical marijuana supporters unveil new proposal for 2016
Florida’s medical marijuana initiative is back and, its backers say, new and improved.

The proposed amendment, submitted Thursday to the Florida Secretary of State’s office, closely resembles the 2014 initiative that narrowly failed at the ballot box — however it was rewritten throughout in an attempt to quiet critics who said it had too many loopholes.

Homeowners insurance policies are being dumped by Citizens
Citizens Property Insurance has now received another wave of shedding homeowners insurance policies from regulators, and the company has now revealed that it will be able to reduce its size by more than what it had once thought.

Florida’s Citizens Settled Almost 70% of Sinkhole Claims in 2014
Citizens Property Insurance Corp. has reached settlement agreements with more than 1,650 Florida homeowners to end litigation on sinkhole repair cases that was delaying critical repairs to their properties.

As of Dec. 15, 2014, Citizens had reached agreements with 1,669 policyholders so work could begin on homes damaged by sinkholes.
