Medical marijuana supporters unveil new proposal for 2016
Florida’s medical marijuana initiative is back and, its backers say, new and improved.

The proposed amendment, submitted Thursday to the Florida Secretary of State’s office, closely resembles the 2014 initiative that narrowly failed at the ballot box — however it was rewritten throughout in an attempt to quiet critics who said it had too many loopholes.

Homeowners insurance policies are being dumped by Citizens
Citizens Property Insurance has now received another wave of shedding homeowners insurance policies from regulators, and the company has now revealed that it will be able to reduce its size by more than what it had once thought.

Florida’s Citizens Settled Almost 70% of Sinkhole Claims in 2014
Citizens Property Insurance Corp. has reached settlement agreements with more than 1,650 Florida homeowners to end litigation on sinkhole repair cases that was delaying critical repairs to their properties.

As of Dec. 15, 2014, Citizens had reached agreements with 1,669 policyholders so work could begin on homes damaged by sinkholes.
