The length of a legal case depends on many different variables and is thus almost impossible to predict. Variables that affect how long a case will take to resolve include (1) the complexity of the case; (2) the facts governing each case; (3) the documentation currently available for the case; (4) the number of the parties in each case; (5) the availability of the Court; (6) the response of the other side; (7) the opposing attorney’s conduct, and (8) the willingness to compromise, negotiate or settle. Because of the foregoing, no two cases are alike. Further, most of the factors are beyond the control of your lawyer.
As such, the simple answer to the question is that your case will take as long as it will take to resolve. Remember, it is far better to take the necessary time to obtain a proper result than to speed through a case and obtain a bad result.
