Florida Legal News: Florida Jury Instructions are amended
The Supreme Court Committee on Standard Jury Instructions in Contracts and Business Cases submits this notice of republication for an amendment to Instruction 416.24, Florida Standard Jury Instruction Contract and Business Cases. This instruction was previously published on December 15, 2014, and as a result of the comments received was further amended. Interested parties have until April 15, to submit comments electronically.

Florida Law News: Florida House bill would remove gay adoption ban from state law
The Republican-dominated Florida House quietly acknowledged Wednesday that gay people have the right to adopt children when they supported a bill amendment that removes a gay adoption ban from state law.  Martin Gill (pictured) was the original plaintiff in a challenge brought in 2009 by the ACLU that led to a ruling striking down Florida’s ban on gay adoption. Gill and his partner had been raising two foster children since 2004, which they eventually adopted.
The vote came five years after an appeals court ruled that the state’s gay-adoption ban is unconstitutional. Then-Gov. Charlie Crist refused to appeal the decision.

Florida News: Miami Mega Mall Would Be the Biggest in the U.S.
A developer’s plan to build the nation’s largest mega-mall in west Miami-Dade faced its first hurdle Tuesday. Miami-Dade Commissioners approved just a small step toward the mammoth mega-mall.
