Patrick Russell, Esq., interviewed by Miami Herald

Miami Herald seeks input of Patrick Russell, Esq., for news story concerning the fraudulent sale of constructions permits from the Miami-Dade County Building and Zoning Department.

On August 19, 2006, Patrick Russell, Esq., was interviewed and quoted for a news story by the Miami Herald involving a recent controversey involving the Miami-Dade County Building and Zoning Department.  Several County employees were accused of selling construction permits to contractors as a way to circumvent the permit application process.  Patrick Russell, Esq., was asked for comment on what, if any, impact this could have on future insurance claims for homeowners that may have employed a contractor that obtained a contractor’s license by illicit means.   Affected homeowners may face starting the entire permit application process all over if their permit was never officially reviewed or approved.  Starting the permit application process all over would be a particular daunting task if in fact construction was already started or complete.
