Contingency fee or result based fees pay lawyers a percentage of the gross recovery in a case.  Most civil litigation matters are handled on a hourly fee basis.  Contingency fee cases are intended for those limited instances when the collection of a judgment, fees or costs is not an issue.  In those cases, the party on the other side is solvent and in most instances is an insurance company.  There is significant debate that contingency fee arrangements create an internal conflict between a client and lawyer as what may be good for the lawyer may not be the best for the client.  As such it is our belief that  in general civil litigation matters, hourly fee rates eliminate all such conflicts and clients are only billed for the services that they actually receive.

Outside of a Florida Personal Injury Law case or to recover under a Florida Insurance Law claim, we would only take a civil litigation matter on a contingency fee on a case by case basis.  To qualify for a contingency fee for a general civil litigation matter, the case must involve a significant monetary claim and only after a thorough asset search has been conducted on the Defendant.
